Our Counselors Rachael Fogleman and Kate Anderson The role of school counselors in Gwinnett County is to support the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) of Gwinnett County Public Schools. The comprehensive developmental guidance program is designed to provide all students with experiences to help them academically and socially. Developmental guidance programs stress the prevention of problems by providing students with age-appropriate information, skills, and goals in order to enhance personal growth. School counselors help students prepare for challenges, grow educationally, develop decision making skills, learn conflict resolution, and make healthy choices. School counselors can help parents understand their child's academic, emotional, and social growth. |
